Vintage Sherman Siam Red Japanned Rhinestone Brooch

Rich shades of medium and darker Swarovski Siam red rhinestones give this signed Sherman brooch exceptional depth and sparkle. The design features a graceful open wreath accented with a cascading flourish, set with a striking mix of round and marquise stones. Scattered Siam Aurora Borealis rhinestones add flashes of iridescent colour that beautifully complement the deep red crystals.

Finished in Sherman's signature black japanned setting, this elegant brooch showcases the outstanding craftsmanship and quality that have made Sherman one of Canada's most collectible vintage costume jewelry makers.

Gustave Sherman was Canada's top designer of the 1950s and 60s and the company's jewelry was sold in upper-end stores such as Birks. Sherman used the best (sometimes specially commissioned) Swarovski crystals and thick rhodium or gold plating. Their jewelry is top quality, which is why you'll often see pieces that look the same as they did at the time they were made!
