A remarkable vintage Dia Diodato sterling silver brooch and pendant, dominated by its extraordinary oversized abstract form from a hard-to-find designer!
Measuring an impressive 4" x 2 7/8", the piece is cut from a broad sheet of sterling silver into a bold, almost pictographic silhouette. The design is all about scale, negative space, sweeping geometry and polished silver—there are no stones or decorative flourishes competing with the form itself.
What makes this piece especially compelling is its sheer visual presence. The broad, highly polished surface acts almost like a small piece of wearable modernist sculpture, while the unusual cut-out shape gives it a strong graphic quality from across the room. The design reads as a monumental abstract figural design, reducing the human form to a bold modernist silhouette in polished sterling silver.
