Vintage Designer Jewelry by D’Orlan
D’Orlan Jewelry, founded in Toronto, Canada, in 1957 by Maurice J. Bradden, is celebrated for its exceptional craftsmanship and high-quality materials. After training under the renowned French jeweler Marcel Boucher, Bradden established D’Orlan Jewellery Ltd., where he produced not only his own unique designs but also costume jewelry for Boucher's company. Following Boucher’s passing in 1966, D’Orlan acquired his company in 1979, continuing the legacy of Boucher's designs with remarkable attention to detail.
D’Orlan’s pieces are distinguished by their meticulous workmanship and innovative plating process. In 1984, D’Orlan partnered with the prestigious French fashion house Nina Ricci. Together, they developed a cutting-edge 22 karat triple-plated gold finish over a pewter base, creating jewelry with a consistent, luxurious gold tone. This technique became a hallmark of both D’Orlan and Nina Ricci's collections, which are sold worldwide in Nina Ricci boutiques and high-end department stores.
D’Orlan’s legacy is a fusion of French-inspired luxury and Canadian craftsmanship, using only the finest materials such as Japanese pearls and Austrian crystals. Their designs are recognized for their durability, beauty, and timeless appeal, solidifying the brand’s place in the global jewelry industry.
