This is a spectacular layered acetate brooch of a woman with a radiating full collar all around her in burgundy. She has a patterned grey hat.

Collerette is the French word for ‘ruff’ or "collar." This piece is often called a ‘full Collerette’, to distinguish it from a half ruff version. This style is also sometimes referred to as a ‘Moderne woman pin’.

This is believed to be an earlier version of this pin due to the detailed face and the head, which can be seen from the reverse in addition to the front.
