GEM-CRAFT CORP., based in Providence/Cranston, RI, has been in operation since around 1945. Founded by Gene and Alfeo Verri (Verrecchia) soon after WWII, the company was initially called Craftsman, then Sample Art. Gene Verri, who also worked for Coro as head designer for over 30 years, created many of Coro’s famous designs. Gem-Craft produced jewelry for renowned designers such as Oscar de la Renta, Kenneth J. Lane, Capri, R. Mandle, Tancer, Kramer, and Cadoro. Their marks include "Craft" (1979), "Gemelli," "Jewelcraft", "Attachables" (1980), "The Adjustable" (1980), and "Anywear" (1981). Currently, Gem-Craft is operated by Gene's son, Ron Verri.
