Rare Vintage Sterling Silver Leaf Brooch with Operculum Shells – Large Statement Pin!
This large vintage brooch has a strong organic Arts and Crafts feel with its bold leaf shape and rich patina. Crafted in sterling silver, it features three bezel-set cat’s eye operculum shells with their signature earthy green, amber, and cream tones. The hand-cut leaf has wonderful detail — flowing veins, curling tips, and a coiled stem that adds dimension and movement. A striking piece with real natural character and a bit of a gothic edge thanks to the darkened silver (heavy patina). Great for collectors of unusual shell or nature-themed jewelry. Victorians wore operculum shells to ward off “evil eye” curses.
