Sherman Jewelry, founded by Gustave Sherman in Montreal in 1949 (some sources say 1947), is known for its high-quality costume jewelry, often incorporating Swarovski crystals and rhinestones in elegant designs. The company crafted iconic pieces, particularly rhinestone-encrusted designs, set in durable metals like rhodium and gold-plated finishes, ensuring both elegance and lasting quality. Sherman was especially famous for using aurora borealis coatings, which added iridescent effects to stones. After reaching its peak in the 1950s and 1960s, the brand ceased production in the 1970s as fashion trends shifted. Today, Sherman jewelry is highly valued by collectors for its craftsmanship and stunning designs.
