Lovely detail on this antique silver brooch designed by Emile Dropsy and produced by the well-known jewelry house Maison Savard!

This elegant little brooch is highly decorated on both sides, with one side depicting a woman in Belle Époque style and the other side, a border of blooming poppies. I feel that the style of this piece crosses over from Art Nouveau to Edwardian, with elements of both present. One source states that the female shown here is meant to have the likeness of well-known actress Sarah Bernhardt.

After Emile's passing, many of his works were reproduced. the Savard mark on this piece helps identify it as a true authentic piece by this maker.
