An extraordinary and exceptionally hard-to-find vintage Schiaparelli brooch featuring a magnificent spray of luminous pink and milky white glass cabochons accented with brilliant, sparkling blue-green aurora borealis rhinestones.
The large, rounded oval cabochons have a beautiful mottled or included, semi-translucent appearance, resembling polished rose quartz and milky moonstone. Each is individually prong-set along gracefully branching gold-tone stems, with clusters of iridescent blue rhinestones nestled between the stones. A row of sparkling pink rhinestones finishes the base of the design.
The combination of oversized faux gemstones, branching construction, and contrasting pastel colors creates a remarkable composition. The exceptional detailing and unusual choice of stones are characteristic of Schiaparelli's imaginative mid-century costume jewelry.
