A wonderful vintage modernist ring in sterling silver in typical style from Studio Else & Paul of Norway!

This is a sculptural piece with a depth that sits slightly off the finger in a classic Midcentury design aesthetic. The band is two-part, so can be slightly adjusted.

Studio Else & Paul was a Norwegian jewelry workshop founded in 1959 by Else Berntsen Hughes and Paul C. Hughes. Known for modern, abstract silver designs with artistic expression, their pieces were sometimes influenced by primitive cultures. Operating in Norway, their workshop primarily used the lost-wax casting method for silver, occasionally working in bronze and gold. A major highlight was their 1960 feature at the Milan Triennial XII exhibition. After Paul’s death in 1981, Else focused more on large-scale sculptures, marking the end of their jewelry production. Their work remains a notable part of mid-20th-century Scandinavian design.
