This is an absolutely delightful 1940s flower basket fur clip by Trifari!

Brunialti book piece! This item was featured in “A Tribute to America: Costume Jewelry 1935-1950” by Carla Ginelli and Roberto Brunialti.

Of all the fur clips in this design, the white basket is a really special one, having a delicate, romantic, sweet appearance. This particular piece is by Trifari's well known designer Alfred Philippe and the patent for the design was filed for in 1940. Included in the images is an original ad for "Gift Pins" in which this fur clip is featured.

This highly collectible treasure can be found in the following guide books: A. Gordon, 20th Century Costume Jewelry, p. 162. and Brunialti, American Costume Jewelry - Art and Industry pg. 78.

It is a beautiful little artwork that will stand to display, due to the fur clip mechanism or can be worn.
